Vigil of Solidarity
Sunday, October 8, 2023 • 23 Tishrei 5784
10:15 AM - 10:45 AMSanctuaryAs you are aware, the Hamas terrorist organization earlier today launched a deadly full-scale war on Israel. They invaded cities and towns and fired thousands of rockets into Israel, marring the simcha – joy – of Simchat Torah. A day when Jewish people should be allowed to celebrate peacefully. It is no coincidence that this invasion comes 50 years and one day since the Yom Kippur War.
Please join the Religious School tomorrow morning, Sunday, October 8, from 10:15-10:45 am in the sanctuary. We will come together as a congregational community to unite in solidarity with the State of Israel during this time. We mourn the loss of innocent lives. We pray for health and healing to those who have been injured. We will also pray for the welfare of those who are currently in Israel. Please know that there are several members of the congregational community whose family have been called up to defend the State of Israel. We will offer our prayers for their safety and welfare.
We pray that the violence will end as quickly as it began.
L’Shalom, Rabbi Cosnowsky, Rabbi Wainer, Marla Aviva Bentley, Aaron Robbin, Karen Butterfield
