Thinking about cleaning out your closets? Bring your household textiles and small electronics to CEC!

In partnership with RewearAble, we’ll be recycling all kinds of clothing and household textiles, in any condition. Bring clothing, shoes, purses, bedding, towels, other textiles, and even soft plush toys you’re not using to us.

Illinois banned electronic waste from landfills in 2012 because they contain hazardous materials. If not properly recycled, these chemicals can make their way from landfills to contaminate our soil, water and air. We will be collecting small electronics, but NOT TVs, monitors, batteries, or hazardous waste, to recycle through eWorks.

Items accepted include computers, tablets, keyboards, mice, printers, scanners, small scale servers, satellite and cable receivers, digital converter boxes, DVD players and recorders, VCRs, video game consoles, fax machines, portable digital music players, holiday lights, cell phones, modems, adapters, power supplies, cables, wires and extension cords.

The more you donate, the less ends up in a landfill. Both of our partner organizations guarantee sustainable employment for people with developmental disabilities as well. Make your spring cleaning environmentally friendly!
