Take action with NCJW for Reproductive Freedom
Congregation Etz Chaim and Beth Shalom collaborative event

Are you looking to engage (or re-engage) in the Jewish movement to support reproductive freedom?

Please join us for an in-person gathering to:

- Hear from Terra Costa Howard, Illinois State Representative for the 42nd District 

- Learn the details of Judaism’s teachings on reproductive freedom from Rabbi Wainer

- Get an update on NCJW initiatives and activities in the fight for reproductive justice and learn how to get involved from NCJW and CEC member, Diane Schaar

- Contribute to the ongoing NCJW project of packing abortion aftercare kits for Planned Parenthood Aurora patients to provide a small source of comfort for those who have sought an abortion.

Our goal this evening is to pack 250 kits. The total estimated cost is about $1100, which is $4.40 per kit. There are a few different ways to support this project:

- Sign Up Here to bring items to Etz Chaim between now and the night of the event like maxi pads, individual tissue packs, tea bags, granola bars, chips, cookies, etc.

- If you cannot attend, or prefer to make a tax-deductible monetary donation so we can purchase items for the kits, go to this link to donate. Select "Kaplan Social Action Fund" for the Type, and add a note that says "For Abortion Aftercare Kits."

Any overage of donations will go towards our next packing event this fall at Beth Shalom.
