Shabbat Services (Humanist Shabbat)
Friday, January 5, 2024 • 24 Tevet 5784
7:30 PM - 8:30 PMSanctuaryPlease join Rabbi Cosnowsky for our annual Humanist Shabbat service. Our service will not mention the name of God, but will include many of the usual liturgical pieces that do not mention God’s name. For those who can sometimes be distracted by the mention of God as an all-powerful or all-knowing Deity, this will provide an opportunity to meditate on the peace and love of Shabbat, without invoking God by name. This provocative experience is sure to open up dialogue for those who seek a service that provides a culturally Jewish experience. Kaddish will be recited as usual.
