Joyce Wagner, Author & Holocaust Survivor
Sunday, May 7, 2023 • 16 Iyar 5783
10:45 AM - 11:45 AMSanctuaryDuring the Holocaust, Joyce Wagner experienced some of the worst things humanity has ever borne upon itself. She was a young adult when she was forced to leave her small-town home of Radziejow, Poland, eventually ending up in Auschwitz. Joyce was the only survivor in a family of 11. Now at 100-years-old, she is still sharing her memories. Her story is one of endurring determination to survive and bear witness.
Opportunities for us to become witnesses to living survivors are rarer all the time. When we hear their stories, those memories live through us forever as witnesses. These stories and experiences with survivors are precious and crucial if we are to ever create a world such tragedy never happens again.
We are honored that Joyce Wagner (mother CEC member Gilda Ross) will be here to share a short documentary on her experience and answer questions. The event is open to all, and friends and family are encouraged to attend. This is an in-person only event without registration.
Copies of her book, A Promise Kept to Bear Witness, will also be available for sale.
